Can't establish VPN Connection - Error 807
-
Dear All,
Suddenly my VPN Connection does not work anymore - it's failing with error 807. Never had this problem before and did not change any network settings. The Remote Server is working fine, tried from other systems and did not have any problem to connect. Already tried ipconfig /flushdns and with firewall disabled. Having all Vista updates installed. Can't figure out the problem - urgent help needed...

Hi,
Microsoft has explained this error code.
ERROR_VPN_DISCONNECT 807
The network connection between your computer and the VPN server was interrupted. This can be caused by a problem in the VPN transmission and is commonly the result of internet latency or simply that your VPN server has reached capacity.
I know that the issue does not occur on other computers. Please let us know if all of the other computers are Windows XP computers, or Windows Vista computers are included. Also please let us know if the computers are in a same domain or network.
I suggest that you temporary disable the anti-virus and firewall. Then, try to connect to the VPN again. If the issue persists, I suggest that you temporary bypass the router, and try to connect. If the issue does not occur, there are some settings on the router cause this issue.

I am having the same issue. It started this previous weekend after I had rebooted the server. While I am in the environment I have the local address of the vpn server put in and try to connect. This is as a PPTP connection and almost instantly it gives me the 807 error. I am not seeing anything in the event logs indicating an issue. This is happening on all of the systems and they are all Windows 7. Because the server and my computer I am testing from are inside the firewall and router I don't see that as an issue. The only change was a couple installed updates to the server and the reboot. I have not seen any updates that indicate this is a known issue. Any help is needed.
