  • Since the month of May we are facing this issue and since then the  easdisk.log is not updating...its data only shows that "Initialize: ExchangeServer http://hostname/powershell, Account , VerboseLog 0, INFO: End to process wipe/policy http://hostname1/powershell." thats it.

and in sitecomp.log i think the issue is with SMS_server_bootstrap service..it shows its aborted and failing..

now I removed and re configured exchange connector, it shows successfully connected but still I receive same critical status messages and "error communicating component" while trying to run query in CMSM. After removing the connector also the status remains same.

  • Hi,

I found a thread you posted before. From the component log you posted,

Failed to read the required Operations Management component registry key values on local computer; error = 6 (0x6).

Failed to read in current property values and initialize COpsMgmtComponent object; error = 6 (0x6).

Failed to read the required Operations Management component registry key values on local computer; error = 6 (0x6).

Failed to read in current property values and initialize COpsMgmtComponent object; error = 6 (0x6).

Can not get the current execution state for component SMS_EXCHANGE_CONNECTOR since it is not installed or completed installing.

I think it is caused by Component Manager not being able to read the required registry key. You need to go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\SMS\Operations Management to check SMS_Exchange connector's hive and make sure the permission is set properly. Also, you may try to delete SMS_Exchange connector=> stop SMS component mananger and SMS executive service, then export the component hive as a backup=>delete the hive=>reconfigure SMS_Exchange connector.

  • Hi,

The messages you posted above indicate it is a permission issue or connectivity issue. Check the connection and account set for installation.

  • Dear Mr. Juke,

Thank you very much for your support and concern.

I performed you registry steps just. Previously in the component status window..it shows availability online..now its showing unknown.

the connector settings was successfull. I saw the summery of the exchange connector..there was no error message.

then I have deleted old messages from the sms_exchange connector status messages window.

I received same error messages..when trying to reinstall it fails..

  • Hi,

sms_bootstrap is an SMS service component that installs secondary sites that are created from within the SMS Administrator console.

Can you find the log in <InstallationDrive>\SMS_bootstrap.log ? Take a look, maybe we can find some clues.

As I said before, from the log above, Seems the registry keys cannot be read by component monitor. It is caused by either 1, the component installation is failed. 2, The registry key is missing or wrong permission being set.

  • Not every issue can be solved here in the forums obviously so you might consider calling Microsoft support (CSS) to get it fixed.
