copy queue lenght on exchange 2010 DAG

    Question

  • Hello

I have a DAG with three members A B and C.  C is accross WAN connection.  And A and B are on same site. Currently DB copy is active and mounted on A.  All the databases are healthy and upto date with queue.  If i mount the DB on server B.  Server A 's copy queue lenght and replay queue lenght is zero.  But sever C's copy queue lenght is keep increasing and replay queue lenght stays at zero.  then if i actiavte DB on sever a.  then server C's copy queue length and replay queue lenght goes to nromal zero.  I have tried restarting replication service on all the severs. also checked the event logs nothign out of ordinary.  Also chekc the replication health status and it is normal.  But some reason when DB is mounted on server B .  C 's copy queue lenght inreases and replay queuel lenght stays zero. i also checked pinging replication net from all the servers .. everythign seemed Ok.  any suggestion

  • Do you have a firewall between these locations?  Are all the TCP and UDP ports opened up between all Exchange servers & DCs ?

  • Hi,

Can you check what is the Replication port and verify whether it's opened in firewall.

    Or is it Dynamic Replication.

    Regards

I'd want the firewall checked to see what is getting dropped.

  • Hi,

Are you using MAPI & Replication Network dedicated? If so can you suspend the database copy and resume it by using Replication Network and verify the status.

    Suspend-MailboxDatabaseCopy -Identity DB1\MBX3 -SuspendComment "Maintenance on EXMBX3" -Confirm:$False

    Resume-MailboxDatabaseCopy -Identity DB1\EX1 -ReplicationOnly

    Resume-MailboxDatabaseCopy -Identity DB1\MBX3

  • I completed turned off the firewall but still the same issue.  I also tried resume-mailboxdatabasecopy -identity db1\ex1 -replicatononly but still the same isssue.
    also ex version 2010 sp3

also there was one change : i had to reinstall network adapter with updated vmware version vmxnet3 on server b.  i made sure that static route was setup correctly.  everything came up ok.  also i have tried lowering to the orignal adapter e1000 without success.

I know there is dAG replication command to idetify the port. but is there a command to reestablishied replciation network just for one server.
