What does co-location terminology mean?

    Question

  • Prior to SCCM 2012 the SQL database was usually described as either local or remote to the site server, now the terminology seems to be co-location. I understand co-location to mean remote (on another server) but in the same physical vicinity. In other words a co-located database is never one that is installed on the site server. Is that correct? What was wrong with the old terminology?
