  • Hi,

Is there any error in event viewer?

Did you try to perform SFC to scan this computer?

    Regards.

  • Sounds like taskmgr.exe has become corrupted. As Vivian suggested use the system file checker to verify that by doing the following.

Open an elevated command prompt window i.e. run Command Prompt as an administrator the run the following command.

    sfc /verifyfile=C:\Windows\system32\taskmgr.exe

    or

    sfc /scanfile=C:\Windows\system32\taskmgr.exe

To scan it and fix it.

  • Hello Vivian

The SFC didn't resolve the issue.

  • Hi,

If the SFC /SCANFILE=C:\Windows\system32\taskmgr.exe (run on CMD as Admin) can not work?

When did the issue happen? After install some updates?

    Regards.

  • To find the root cause of the problem you willl have to create the dump file and then analyze it. The best way would be using the sysinternal utility called procdump and attaching the process to it to get the dump.

    Also

can you please replace the taskmanager with the process explorer and see it helps you. As process explorer is more powerful tool than taskmanager.
