ie8 corrupt search provider

    Question

  • I have searched the internet and ms for a fix for the IE8 error msg where it says your default search provider is corrupted. The only answers I can find involve editing the registry which I will not do. I am just a regular user, and don't understand why MS has not fixed this problem. I just downloaded IE8 a couple of weeks ago, and the problem has been reported for months. So, since there seems to be no other solution, how do I uninstall IE8 and go back to the previous version? It is annoying to deal with this message everytime I open the browser, and it makes me think other things related to IE8 will harm my computer. Thanks.
