Can existing App-V 4.5 Sequenced Apps work for Windows 7?
When I upgraded from App-V 4.2 to 4.5 I had to convert each application on my managmenet server. Now I am getting ready to upgrade from 4.5 to 4.5 SP1 with the hopes that I will not have to touch each app to make it available for Windows 7 systems. Does anyone know if the the SP1 upgrade will do anything to help this process?

- Hello,
When I moved from 4.1 -> 4.5 I had to repackage 1 application, now that would not be true if you moved from a full-infrastructure to say SCCM (you need the XML-file which didn't exist in the previous version...).
The SP1 version has nothing as drastic so I would say you don't need to....
/Znack - Agreed to Znack.
However, of course you should TEST each application with the 4.5 SP1 Client. Or, to be more drastic: the Application Owner should test and confirm the compatibility of her/his Line-of-Business application with the new client.
Like Znack don't expect any difficulty...
Falko My setup is an App-V server with the regular workstation clients (not TS).
The 4.5 SP1 Client works for XP, and Vista Systems, but I am not getting any apps to show up on my Windows 7 Clients unless I re-sequence the entire application with the SP1 Sequencer. I tried using Sequencer ver. 4.5.2 to upgrade an existing app that was sequenced with the previous version (4.5.1) , then I selected Windows 7 from the available operating systems list saved it and uploaded it back to the server & added the new package version. It still does not show up on the windows 7 system. If I sequence the app from scratch on the SP1 sequencer then it does show up. Any ideas?- Hello,
Is Windows 7 added as an supported operating system in the .OSD-file?

Yes, it is there now; After I opened it on the Sequencer, I forgot to copy the new OSD file to the content directory.
Do you know if that is that the easiest way to edit the .OSD file? Since I have many apps, I want to avoid having to open each one on the sequencer in order to update it.- Hello,
Depending on your deployment situation, yes and no.
If you have a SCCM R2 / MSI based deployment - I would say its the easiest way.
If you have an server-infrastructure - I would say you can use any mass-changing tool and edit all the files..
