AppV 4.6 SP2 all on 2008R2 machines.
I am sequencing the Zarafa client for a client. Zarafa is like an Exchange replacement which works with Outlook. Office 2007 sp3 is installed locally, also on the sequencer. When I install the MSI on the sequencer machine outside the sequencing software itself there is no problem. However when I enable AppV sequencing and install it, it gives an error. The MSI log gives a lot of verbose, last lines that actually matter I think is this:MSI (s) (78:FC) [15:43:05:755]: User policy value 'DisableRollback' is 0
MSI (s) (78:FC) [15:43:05:755]: Machine policy value 'DisableRollback' is 0
MSI (s) (78:90) [15:43:05:763]: Invoking remote custom action. DLL: C:\Windows\Installer\MSI576E.tmp, Entrypoint: OnAiRemoveRegs
MSI (s) (78:D8) [15:43:05:763]: Generating random cookie.
MSI (s) (78:D8) [15:43:05:780]: Created Custom Action Server with PID 2056 (0x808).
MSI (s) (78:F4) [15:43:05:841]: Running as a service.
MSI (s) (78:F4) [15:43:05:846]: Hello, I'm your 32bit Elevated custom action server.
MSI (s) (78:60) [15:43:05:855]: Invoking remote custom action. DLL: Q:\Zarafa Client 7.1.3-40304\ECProps.dll, Entrypoint: DllRegisterServer
CustomAction ECProps.dll returned actual error code 1157 (note this may not be 100% accurate if translation happened inside sandbox)
MSI (s) (78:FC) [15:43:06:463]: Note: 1: 1723 2: ECProps.dll 3: DllRegisterServer 4: Q:\Zarafa Client 7.1.3-40304\ECProps.dll
MSI (s) (78:FC) [15:43:06:464]: Transforming table Error.
So registering the ECProps.dll file doesn't work. Doesn't work when I do it manually from within sequencer either. When I stop sequencing or go back to it's clean state it installs fine again.
Been troubleshooting all day but couldn't find a clue. I have seen a lot of applications with problems after sequencing but not actually during sequencing. I've tried to carry out all actions the MSI does manually but failed doing so (even outside the sequencer).
Anyone any idea?

My advice would be firstly, run the MSI from a command line that you opened as an Administrator and also, do not sequence this application to Q:\
Allow it to install to C:\Program Files or Program Files (x86) or whatever. Where-ever the default Install location is.

Thanks fr your reply. I already tried that. The logfile I showed was indeed when installing to Q: but that doesn't make a difference. If anybody wants to share a few minutes and try, the client is free (and useless without Zarafa server) and downloadable from http://download.zarafa.com/community/final/7.1/7.1.3-40304/windows/.
Just installing it from within the sequencer gives me an error already. Must be a small thing I am overlooking here...

I downloaded and tried to install on my sequencing machine during monitoring phase with office 2007 sp3 installed locally, it captured fine without any errors. I even tried installing office 2010 locally and then capturing, in either ways i didn't get any error. I have used 4.6 SP1 sequencer.

@ Znack: no haven't tried with 5.0 yet, we aren't using 5 at all yet. I am a bit afraid to convert all 100+ packages we have...
@pavan: thank you so much for the time. I used 4.6sp2 but will try sp1. What OS did you use?

Windows 7 64 bit
Monday, February 11, 2013 12:35 PMImagine the odds. Using sequencer 4.6SP1 hotfix 8 it works immediately as it should. Seems to be some kind of bug in SP2. Too bad I didn't test with the earlier version myself first. Thanks Pavan for testing!
