Does anyone know where to restart the App-V Management Server service? I can only see the App-V Server VSS Writer and Streaming Server service in the service mmc console..

    Any help will be appreciate.

    Hi,

On a Streaming Server ("Lightweight Server"), the Streaming Server Service is the one that offers the functionality to stream App-V Packages - so if (for whatever reason) you have to restart it, take this one.

    Thanks for your info.

Actually, after I uninstalling the Stream Server, it shows up. Does it means that 2 servers can not be installed on the same box?

Well, I wonder how you made the double-installation <:-O  ;-)

Whatever happens during installation (even if you can install Management Server and Streaming Server on the same box, I really never ever tried this) - the service's short name is the same for both, so one would overwrite the other, and vene if both services would be listed separetly they both would try to listen on the same ports (554 or 332) so the slower one would fail to initialize because the port is blocked...

Shortly: You can not have two instances of Management Server, Streaming Server or a mixture of both running on the same Operating System instance.

If you install the streaming server the streaming server service replaces the management service.  Uninstall the streaming server application.  Then do a repair of the management server.  This should put back the "Application Virtualization Management Server service.

The management service handles the streaming for you.
