how to delete "windows.old" file in local disk C:

    Question

  • At the begining of the system he ask for selecting operating system but I use only win 8 so want to delete other os. 

    What should I do ?

    To delete Windows.old file, you should use DISK cleanup in drive properties.

    To delete the item during system boot option, WIN+R, open Run, type msconfig, then Switch to boot. Delete the boot item which you want.

  • Because of it's a upgrade installation, you got your old Windows in a folder called Windows.old, you can delete it if you no more would like to uninstall your Windows 8.1 and go back to your old Windows

    I suggest you create backup media image for your previous OS 

    If you don't need this you can delete it for your own risk

    you can delete it using disk clean up or take ownership folder and delete it manually
