I start reading that the Extended Events system should be used instead of the profiler.
the performance of this option appear to be better.
but is there any simple GUI like the profiler is?
and is it possible to store events in an SQL Database like the profiler can do?
I have a requirement which is:
log all the login / logout session
log all the MDX queries executed
for auditing and billing purpose.
currently I'm using the ASTrace service (codeplex project) to do this, but if the extended event system has less impact, then how to use it to log in SQL?
