Which User Role is supposed to be able configure a Performance Widget in a Dashboard?

    Question

  • I have created a Dashboard with a performance widget for CPU % Utilization.  The person using this Dashboard has the need to be able to change the time frame shown.  With a regular performance view, a regular Operator has the ability to do this.  But, in SCOM 2012 Dashboards, this doesn't seem to be the case.  I tried with a user in the Advanced Operator role, but they can't configure the widget in the Dashboard either.  Author role, you can't limit to a specific view.

Is this a bug or over site that will be fixed in a future release?  Or am I just overlooking something?

  • Hi Richard,

You are spot on, only Authors and Admins have access to change the dashboard widget. The only way to limit the info for a custom role is by Author scope and group scope.

But this is a good point, OpsMgr team should try to make granting access more granular.
