Answered WCF-SQL Adapter not displayed in list

    Environment:

      Windows 2008 R2

      BizTalk 2010

      WCF LOB Adapter SDK 3.0.6527.0

      BizTalk Adapter Pack(x64)

After installing the LOB Runtime and BTS Addin + the Adapter Pack (SQL Server adapter only), I find that the machine.config files updated properly, but the WCF-SQL adapter itself is not present in the list of BTS adapters.  Nor can I add the adapter since it is not available in the drop down menu when I try to add an adapter.

I have tried a repair of the adapter pack and a repair on BTS 2010.  Neither made any difference.

    Any suggestions?

Thanks for the info.  I had already checked out the first link in your post.  Doesn't seem to apply.  In the second link (kinda follows the first, somewhat), I have tried manually adding the adapter to the BTS adapter list.  Can't do it because in step 3 the WCF-SQL adapter entry is not being displayed in the Adapter drop down list.

    No, yes and no.

The 64-bit WCF LOB Adapter SDK SP2 has been superseded by the WCF LOB Adpater SDK 2010 for BTS 2010.

I installed the adapter pack from the DVD.  I can see it on my C: drive in the Microsoft BizTalk Adapter Pack(x64) folder.

Why would I need to install the 32-bit version?

Okay.  I installed the 32-bit adapter pack (SQL only) and was able to add the new WCF-SQL adapter.  The WCF-SQL adapter became available in the drop down list.

Why is it not available when the 64-bit adapter is installed?  Is it because the BTS admin console is a 32-bit application???
