UAG Sp1 rollup 1 to SP2

    Question

  • Hello Team,

We are planning to upgrade UAG 2010 SP1 rollup 1 to UAG 2010 SP2. We have 3 servers in array.

Could any one suggest the best method to go ahead with the approach.

Do we need to install TMG SP2 before installing UAG SP2

  • Hi Shineesh,

We have upgrade UAG last weekend to sp2 and i'v found 2 problems. FYI : my UAG as more than 15 trunks and more than 150 apps in my array server.

On the first server UAG i'v made this change :

First -  maxTimeout of installation of SP2 as reach rapidly. The fix of issue is http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2811066/fr. i'v change maxTimeout for 2 hours.

Next - TMG/UAG have change-tracking activate by default. Too many transcation is write when SP2 convert configuration file and SP2 fail to install. This issue is fix with unselect Enable change tracking in TMG

For installation, i'v used this upgrade instructions : http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj590883.aspx

  • Thanks to both of you Ophir. and Sylvain . I did check the TechNet article.

I have few additional queries. When I try TMG SP2 in test environment I have UAG file in use error message.

Do we  need to stop all UAG TMG services before TMG  SP2 update. This is not mentioned in TechNet article in fact. Any fast response would be great if any have come across to this situation

  • I successfully updated UAG SP2 using the steps suggested in MS article. We had 3 servers in array using NLB

Please follow below link for the upgrade

In case you get error for UAG files in use. Please ignore and complete during TMG SP2 setup.

Post restart all gets updated fine.

Please note you need to rollout endpoint componet for users post upgrade
