Page Numbering Issue when Exporting/Printing

    Question

  • I am working on a report using SQL Server 2012 SP1 CU7 (11.0.3393) and am having issues with the page numbering. It is not working properly. The issue is identical to the supposedly "fixed" issue described in this KB: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2647120

That KB says this issue was fixed in CU1 for SQL Server 2012, but it is not clear to me if this bug fix was included in SP1 or CU7. I looked at the list of bugs fixed in SP1 (here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2674319) and the list of bugs fixed in CU7 (here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2894115) and did not see it listed in either place. So I have a few questions: (1) was this bug fix included in SP1/CU7? (2) If so, am I experiencing a different bug even though the bug I am experiencing has the created the same problem? (3) If the bug fix was not included in SP1 or CU7, why wasn't it? I was under the impression all cumulative updates included all the bug fixes up to that point.

  • Hi jcapallo,

Just as you said, the fix for this issue was first released in Cumulative Update 1 for SQL Server 2012. Cumulative updates include all updates that broadly affect support issues that have been released since the last service pack. So the bug is also fixed in CU7.

As to the issue you encounter, I think it can be caused by improper size property of the report or there is a long string makes a cell has not enough space to display it. For more details, please see the following thread:

If there are any other questions, please feel free to ask.

  • Thanks Katherine, but I don't see how that is relevant. I could see how having that could cause the report to spill over onto additional pages, but I don't understand why that would cause the page number to be incorrect. I am seeing results like this for a given group that prints on three pages:
