Cannot get SCCM Right-click tools working with SCCM R2 and SQL 2008 on separate boxesHave Rick Houchins' SCCM Right-click tools version 1.9 running on a Server 2008 terminal server. When connecting to a single-box site server, running on Server 2008, it works fine, but, when connecting to my central site, with SCCM R2 and SQL 2008 on separate Server 2008 boxes, I get namespace errors. In particular, when try and run the "Add Systems to this Collection", AddColl.hta, I get an error on line 105, column 5, of "Invalid Namespace", Code 0.

Not sure if I can fix something, and, presume it has something to do with running on two boxes, rather than one?

Thanks!© 2009 Microsoft Corporation. I know the right-click tools are awesome. But honestly I don't use them. Haven't for years. Zanders' tools and Ron Crumbakers' Web Remote Tools 3.21 replaced right-click tools for me long ago.

I have no idea if Dan's right-click tools take sql off-box into account, but he's got a different set of right-click tools if you wanted to try them: http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/direland/
Standardize. We don't normally support third party tools here. I do use right click tools myself but I have zero experience using SQL off the server.

This is the first Ihave heard of anyone else publishing right-click tools but I bet he uses the same scripts that Rick uses. As far as I know we all use the same scripts that have been around forever, we just call them from an xml now rather than from the registry.
John Marcum, Systems Management Consultant - www.TrueSec.comMon, 06 Jul 2009 17:45:37 Z2009-07-06T17:45:37Zhttp://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/configmgradminconsole/thread/298ffcc3-e6b0-4cbd-8e11-a1f15596b4c3#46382090-6d8b-4764-8aec-335aebfa6b15http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/configmgradminconsole/thread/298ffcc3-e6b0-4cbd-8e11-a1f15596b4c3#46382090-6d8b-4764-8aec-335aebfa6b15Wallyhttp://social.technet.microsoft.com/Profile/en-US/?user=WallyCannot get SCCM Right-click tools working with SCCM R2 and SQL 2008 on separate boxesAgreed - it's not part of Configuration Manager, so not supported here. You'd need to contact the owner of the tool directly. If you have questions specific to Configuration Manager itself, those are appropriate here.
Wally MeadMon, 06 Jul 2009 17:48:16 Z2009-07-06T17:48:16Zhttp://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/configmgradminconsole/thread/298ffcc3-e6b0-4cbd-8e11-a1f15596b4c3#cefeaae5-5399-41ff-9676-31d735740cf0http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/configmgradminconsole/thread/298ffcc3-e6b0-4cbd-8e11-a1f15596b4c3#cefeaae5-5399-41ff-9676-31d735740cf0Bill Bradleyhttp://social.technet.microsoft.com/Profile/en-US/?user=Bill%20BradleyCannot get SCCM Right-click tools working with SCCM R2 and SQL 2008 on separate boxesAppreciate that, John. I had thought it MIGHT be the lack of the SCCM Client, so, installed that on both servers, but, it still doesn't work. I'll write Rick.

Thanks!Mon, 06 Jul 2009 18:04:05 Z2009-07-06T18:04:05Zhttp://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/configmgradminconsole/thread/298ffcc3-e6b0-4cbd-8e11-a1f15596b4c3#ba2b8b24-8b35-4a64-9e71-b775396ee90chttp://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/configmgradminconsole/thread/298ffcc3-e6b0-4cbd-8e11-a1f15596b4c3#ba2b8b24-8b35-4a64-9e71-b775396ee90cBill Bradleyhttp://social.technet.microsoft.com/Profile/en-US/?user=Bill%20BradleyCannot get SCCM Right-click tools working with SCCM R2 and SQL 2008 on separate boxesSorry, Wally, just assumed that others might know of this issue, and, a way to fix it. I would assume most use some additional tools, as Microsoft didn't put in all needed functionality.

Thanks.Mon, 06 Jul 2009 18:05:25 Z2009-07-06T18:05:25Zhttp://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/configmgradminconsole/thread/298ffcc3-e6b0-4cbd-8e11-a1f15596b4c3#54c80aad-3ace-4fec-a9e1-5434bafe34a9http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/configmgradminconsole/thread/298ffcc3-e6b0-4cbd-8e11-a1f15596b4c3#54c80aad-3ace-4fec-a9e1-5434bafe34a9John Marcumhttp://social.technet.microsoft.com/Profile/en-US/?user=John%20MarcumCannot get SCCM Right-click tools working with SCCM R2 and SQL 2008 on separate boxesI can tell you that the SCCM client does not play a part in those tools.
John Marcum, Systems Management Consultant - www.TrueSec.comMon, 06 Jul 2009 18:26:09 Z2009-07-06T18:26:09Zhttp://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/configmgradminconsole/thread/298ffcc3-e6b0-4cbd-8e11-a1f15596b4c3#b53f6d09-9eac-487f-bbd4-dadaa5950497http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/configmgradminconsole/thread/298ffcc3-e6b0-4cbd-8e11-a1f15596b4c3#b53f6d09-9eac-487f-bbd4-dadaa5950497Bill Bradleyhttp://social.technet.microsoft.com/Profile/en-US/?user=Bill%20BradleyCannot get SCCM Right-click tools working with SCCM R2 and SQL 2008 on separate boxesNot arguing, but, Zander's SCCM Client Center ALSO didn't work, giving me a namespace error, too, until I installed the client on both servers, so, I had hoped that it might fix the right-click tools, but, it didn't. I've written Rick.

Thanks.Mon, 06 Jul 2009 18:38:23 Z2009-07-06T18:38:23Zhttp://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/configmgradminconsole/thread/298ffcc3-e6b0-4cbd-8e11-a1f15596b4c3#46b4308e-0047-4f49-8d62-eae9f2ec92e4http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/configmgradminconsole/thread/298ffcc3-e6b0-4cbd-8e11-a1f15596b4c3#46b4308e-0047-4f49-8d62-eae9f2ec92e4Wallyhttp://social.technet.microsoft.com/Profile/en-US/?user=WallyCannot get SCCM Right-click tools working with SCCM R2 and SQL 2008 on separate boxes
That may be, but those type of issues don't go here :-)

And, very unlikely we'll ever include "all needed functionality" as everyone has their own list of needed things.
