Distribution Point serving 2 Different Sites
-
Thursday, May 10, 2012 2:50 PMI have resources that are managed by different administrators and are located on different sites but they happen to be located in the same building. Logistically, it is much more efficient for us to use the distribution point at that building to serve both sites. It does permit me to add this DP as a site system on both sites and I don't foresee any issue but has anyone successfully implemented a setup like this or am I missing something that would cause problems in the future with a setup like this?

So you want to share a DP between two different ConfigMgr sites? Sharing site system between sites is not supported as far as I know.Torsten Meringer | http://www.mssccmfaq.de

Thursday, May 10, 2012 3:33 PMi could even go so far as to create a server share and implement the setup that way. I know the DP is still technically a site system even when that is the case but its kinda wasteful to build another server to simply sit out in the field as a file store. :(
