Proposed AnswerSCCM is taking too long to run

    Hi,
I recently installed SCCM SP1 in a lab envitonment and everything has been working well except that it takes ages for most things to work. For exampe, it took over 10 hours for the client managers to install and report back to the console. Software and hardware inventory have also been taking really long periods.

Is there anything I can do to speed things up or is this normal?

I would also like to know if it takes this long to run in a live environment.

    Hi,
It's not normal. Installing clients only takes a few minutes. Running an inventory process depends on how much inventory data you are gathering. You can monitor the process by looking at the inventory.log file on the client. It will tell you how long the process took. My guess is less that a minute for hw scanning and 4-10 minutes for a sw scanning.

In the console you need make sure that the collections are updated otherwise they will not show any new data. By default collections update them self once a day.
