After reading site reset on technet online, http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb633159.aspx I want to confirm something:

    1. If perform site reset, will the package,or advertiment be missing?

    2.  Will the site configuration be missing or back to original default setting?

    3. What the impact after site reset? Will the security configuration be back to original?

    Does anybody explain this process?

    Thanks.

    Hi,

    1) A site reset will not touch data
    2) Site configuration remains intact (agent settings etc)
    3) Again no data will be touched (however you can select to reset security settings to default, not settings defined in the Admin console but NTFS and registry settings).

A site reset process can be used to change the location of the SQL database, reapply default permissions etc.

In your test lab monitor the sitecomp.log file and the ConfigMgrSetup.Log file. Here you will find detailed information about the process. While watching the sitecomp.log file you will also discover that site components are reinstalled.
