The Client is a HP 7800 SSF with VPro enabled, running XP SP2 residing in the same domain as the site server, I manually ran the msi file from the XP client to install the SCCm client, the installation wizard stated the installation was successful but when looking at the XP collection I see the system but the client the columns for the site name and client installed shows nothing and no respectively.  What am I doing wrong?

    Hi Frank!

Try to look at All Client Systems Query for info what are you looks for. Collections not dynamically refresh info, only by schedule. If Query does not show info about client, thats may be because initial hardware and software scans not completed or/and client does not pull info form AD about location Management Point and/or client does not send info about himself to Management Point. And of course you can look for errors in log files. Explanation about them can be found there http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb892800.aspx

Thank you Sergey, I am new to SCCM so I am still feeling my way around the application, I took your advice and started looking at log files both on a client and on the site server.  On the client side I looked at a CCMsetup Log file and found an entry for a site server which doesn't exist along with two different site codes one which I given when installing SCCM and the other was for SMS, at least this is what I am assuming.  The client shows up in the SCCM console but it shows the client agent is not installed and that it's AMT status is unknown which is not correct. I did modify the discovery schedule setting it to run every 4 hours since this is a lab setting and doesn't have a lot of objects in ADUC. I am wondering what step I am missing ?  Any suggestions would be highly appreciated in troubleshooting this.  Thank you

    Hi Frank!

Try to change SMS Site code in SCCM console (Site Setting - Client Push Installation - Properties - on Client Tab set SMSSITECODE to your actual value, if set to AUTO), also check DNS Settings on client, look for errors in LocationServices.log, can the client resolve MP and DP?

Hi Sergey, thanks for your help I ran a search for the LocationServices .log file on the Site Server and there was no entry for the client I also check the client just to make sure you didn't mean on the client and I couldn't find the log file.  Push Client Installation:The SMSSITECODE is configured with the actual site code name but the client still doesn't install or should I say it doesn't show up in the SCCM2007 R2 console as being installed.  regarding DNS erros on the client can be more specific, what am I looking for?  I do not want to try a manual installation of the client agent until i figure out why the push installation is not working. Looking the SCCM console the Site System Status is fine (green check mark) but the Component Status is not.  The error is a Critical Milestone "The out of band service point completed sending 1 packet(s) to completion port. 0 packet(s) are in pending list. 0 packet(s) are failed to be sent to completion port."  Any help would be appreciated
