SCCM SP2 non-Evaluation Release availability
SCCM SP2 non-Evaluation Release availability
- Any clues about when the non-Evaluation release of SCCM SP2 will be available though MSDN? I am starting a SCCM deployment next week on a client over Win2k8 R2 and I am planning to deploy SCCM SP2 Eval and hope to have the non-Eval available before the 180 days grace period expires.I am not excited at all about going to production with an eval release but as far as I understand that is the only option I have if i will deploy Win2k8 R2 site servers. Thanks,
Beto

- Two additional points, the actual upgrade is available and nothing prevents you from first installing ConfigMgr SP1 and then installing SP2 in short-order.
If you are uncomfortable with this, then going the eval route works well also because the eval restriction is merely a licensing restriction without any functionality difference that an in-place upgrade using the final slipstreamed media will resolve. However, just because a slipstreamed version is supposed to be made available, there are no promises as to when or ultimately if it will actually be released.

- Actually I've heard that slipstreamed media won't be available until December, unless you want the eval version, which is fine to use. But the MVLS site and other media are not supposed to be available until December.

- Slipstreamed media should available in november and general availability should be December.
