    Hello,

        There are backlogs in despoolr.box\receive and statmgr.box\statmsgs from yesterday.Its not cleared yet.

    I tried to restart the service sms_executive.i got the error 'the service is not responding' and it enters into 'stopping' state.

    Any help??

    Hi

    It's not uncommon for the SMS Executive service not to stop successfully, as it will usually always be busy especially in large environments. a more controlled method would be to perform the following:

    • open command prompt
    • browse to the preinst.exe directory (<installdir>\SMS_<sitecode>\bin\i386\<language code> )
    • execute the command
    preinst.exe /stopsite

    • This will shutdown each SCCM componenet and partially reset the site and flag each component for reinstall. It's a useful troubleshooting step if some components dont appear to be functioning as expected.
    • Open services.msc
    • Start the SMS_Executive service
    • Start the SMS Component Manager service
    • You should be aware that passwords for accounts configured within SCCM may be reset.
