Is your site in native mode?
If so (I'm assuming yes), have you properly deployed the required client certificates to the clients: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb680733.aspx

Thursday, January 10, 2013 2:17 PMI have this same issue when I am doing an XP to Win7 Hardlink in place migration through SCCM. The cert is there and in place and the machine was communicationg with SCCM in its win XP state. I can manually delete and re-install the cert and it will start to communicate with the SCCM server again. I've been searching through all of the logs and also from my research I can't find or make any sense of relation of certificate and old operating system.
