    Hi,

I followed the OS deployment article and created the package and sysprep folder and boot image as per the article,

The problem I am facing now is after the client gets the IP and loads the image file the client immidiatelty restarts...

    How to troubleshoot the problem?

    Pls help

    See smsts.log on the client.

more often than not the reboot is down to lack of network connectivity between your client and the server, usually because you lack Vista Network drivers in your boot.wim file which is used to load WinPE which in turn installs the OS for you,

as Torsten says, look at your SMSTS.log file to find out if it is indeed a network problem,

do find out how to do that, see this post

if you don't understand what the errors in smsts.log file mean, post them here and we will help decipher them

    cheers

I am using virtual PC as SCCM R2 Server and client is that the culprit...
    can I go for VMware?

Also try changing the type of virtual disk you are using.
    SCSI or IDE....

    Let me be clear....
I am running MS Virtual PC 2007
The single  PC is the Domain Controller and SCCM R2
And Client PC also MS Virtual PC with 512MB RAM and 20 GB HDD
i am now trying to deploy XP sp3 as per windows-noob article
When I boot from LAN the client PC loads the boot menu but immidiately restarts after that.

My question is can we use MS VPC for testing this kind things

Or Better to use VMWare ?

Better use VMWare. You will have issues matching HAL types on your the wim file and the VPC. There is a way around it, but I find it  very convoluted and not worth it if you have other virtual solutions available at your disposal.
