SCCM Mapped Drive Query

I know the only way for SCCM to query mapped drives is datashift right? Please provide a simple overview of the steps as I read the other thread and don't completely get it, how to use that tool for the query.

How do you do this step?
A few gotchas on the whole process is that the user has to have write access to root/CIMV2 class. We can over come this by explicitly adding the domain user group to CIMV2 using the MMC

Friday, February 10, 2012 2:40 PMI extended the MOF on the site server, restarted the services. Then ran the mapdrive.vbs on a test pc. Then I ran hardware inventory on it. Started resource explorer and no mapped drives category. What am I missing?
