Recently I have found that most of the clients are not showing up in SCCM "All Systems" collection.  When I "Initiate Actions" from the Configuration Manager, client will appear again.

Anyone have an idea or can help.

    Thanks - Ahmad

    Hi,

Just to clarify. Are the clients disappearing from the console and then after you initiate actions they reappear. What actions are you initiating?

    Hi Kent,

The clients are disappearing from SCCM server "All Systems" collection then they reappear after I initiate all the actions from the clients "Configuration Manager " in control Panel.

    Thanks - Ahmad

It sounds like clients are being deleted from the console/database. Do you have a tool installed that markes clients as inactive and then delete them?

See if the heart beat is set to like 1 or 2 days, also check to see if you have Uninstall Client flag turned on in your Task Maint.

What is happening is the server sees it as "dead" machine and removes it.  When you initiate and action then SCCM gets a response from the client and sees it as active.

The Heartbeat Discovery is disabled. In the Tasks Maintenance The following tasks are ON:

Rebuild Indexes, Monitor Keys, Delete Aged Status Messages, Delete Aged Software Metering Data, Delete Aged Software Metering Summary Data, Summarize Software Meeting File Usage Data, Summarize Software Metering Monthly Usage Data, Delete Aged Collected Files, Deleted Aged Configuration Management Data, Delete Aged Delete Detection Data, Reset AMT Computer Passwords, Evaluate Provisioned AMT Computer Certificates, Backup ConfigMgr Site Server.

The rest of the tasks are OFF.

    Thanks - Ahmad

Why is heartbeat discovery disabled? I strongly suggest enabling it!

So is this problem fixed now or are you still seeing it?

    Gentlemen,

Thank you so much.  The problem has been fixed by enabling the heartbeat discovery.
