Does SCCM 2007 SP2 support SQL Server 2008 R2?

I have SCCM 2007 SP2, version: 4.00.6487.2000 and SQL Server 2008, version 10.0.2531.0 installed on Server 2008 R2 Standard.
Does SCCM 2007 SP2 support SQL Server 2008 R2? I need to upgrade to SQL Server 2008 R2 but want to make sure that SCCM 2007 SP2 supports it.
Thanks.

SQL Server 2008 R2 _is_ supported as a site DB using System Center Configuration Manager 2007 SP2 and later (e.g. R3).

That's true. Now it is supported, but it was not back in June when the question was asked.
