SCCM Urgent Question
SCCM Urgent Question
- Hello
just need a quick help
i am a senior systems project engineer and with a customer who's planning to use SCCM 2007 in his network and we have some concerns
i am planning to use SCCM SP1 the Evaluation copy with for 120 days i think and full test it in live environment till we decide to use the licensed version, the thing is
1- how can i convert the Evalutaion copy of SCCM from evaluation copy to fully licensed version?? i cant find a place to put the CD KEY in SCCM to convert it....
2- do we have to have an extra license for the number of clients that the SCCM is going to manage???
waiting for replies ASAP
Thank you

- Hi,
1) Yes you can "upgrade" the eval copy - http://www.faqshop.com/configmgr2007/default.htm?http://www.faqshop.com/configmgr2007/instconfig/issvrs.htm#Can_I_upgrade_from_an_evaluation_copy_to_a_full
2) You need at ConfigMgr licens for each client and server - http://www.microsoft.com/systemcenter/configurationmanager/en/us/pricing-licensing.aspx

- Thank You for your reply
and as far i understood
i can now work with SCCM SP1 Eval Copy and once i get the licensed CD i just run it and select upgrade and the Eval copy will be licensed
am i right????
also regarding the licens for each client, in case i didnt buy that license for each client, is it going to prevent me from any functionality or option in the SCCM? or its just related to auditing and legally????
waiting your reply
thank you
Ahmad Ramadan AbaYazeed - The trial version will work without any limitations (except that it will expire).
