AnswerParent Site appears dead but no errors in event log

This is going to be a tough one I think. I have SCCM 2007 R2 on a Parent site that reports to a central site. It has been running for months without problems. I first noticed that  none of the sub folders on the console displayed. You see them all Site Management, Computer Management System Status, etc but when you click on any of them in the central display pane all is says is "There are no items to display" it's like all content is gone.  The event log has Zero warnings or errors on SCCM. I made sure all services were started and restarted the server with no change. I tried reconnecting to the site database which occurs without error but still no change. The only real hint of a problem is when you click on the Site Database folder which does display the Site and Server name correctly but in the display panel says "Configuration Manager cannot determine the site mode for this Site" Other than that all other folder just display the "There are no items to show in this view" This goes for Site Status as well.
I checked that permissions had not changed on the Site database but with no errors to go on and no seeming way to maniuplate this site I am at a lose of what to do next.  I mentioned you can chose the connect to site database and that goes through with no issue. I tried the Site repair wizard but that seems to get stuck at the Stop Services part and then blows up even though I stopped all services before i used it.

It might be a permissions issue. However as John  mentioned its better to contact PSS as it is complex issue. But before that can you check permissions to check they are fine.

Query data base with following query
select * from dbo.securityobjusers and see your account has required permissions.

Also check if you are able to see what accounts are there under Security Rights --> Users.

I would call PSS for this issue. It sounds too complex and important to troubleshoot in the forums.
