Cannot install SCCM Client
- Hi ,
I have been going mad for the past week trying to install the remote tool client agent....
I was running sms 2003 before and it installed perfectly ok, so i decided to try sccm 2007 on a different server and the client just wont install. I have switched of the server that was running sms 2003 just in case their was some conflict but no luck.
Can someone tell me from scratch how to set up the client and what permissions i need, i have also created a user in Ad called SCCM-USER and given it administrative permission but no luck.
I have no idea
Thanks inadvance

- Hi,
1) You have a ConfigMgr server up and running. Is the schema extended?
2) How are you installing the ConfigMgr. client (client push, manuel etc).
3) Have you published any ccmsetup parameters to Active Directory (specified in the client push properties)
4) If you used client Push, have you checked CCM.log on the site server
5) Do you have a ccmsetup folder on the client, if Yes can you check the ccmsetup.log file for errors.

What have you done so far? Is the ConfigMgr client already installed, but the remote tool client agent missing? Or is the installation (which method? Push? Manualß GPO? etc) itself failing? Or are you getting an "access denied" when trying to remote control a client?- Hi,
I hope this helps..

I have extended the schema by using the EXTADSCH File and the server is running ok
2) How are you installing the ConfigMgr. client (client push, manuel etc).
I am trying to install the client by using the push Installation, i have tryed it manually as well but no luck

No I dont know how to
Questions 4 and 5, I have tryed sending you the log file but it keeps syaing stop running the script then it crashes internet explorer, is their another way to send it. Hi
On some machines in my company, the client from the sms 2003 is installed but it wont upgrade the client from the sccm 2007 client.. Also, it is not showing in the query\all client systems tap
Thanks Inadvance
Ciscocharlie- Hi,
Just copy some entries from the ccm.log file. See if you can find some errors and copy the lines above and below that.

Ccm.log indicates that push service can't go through the client machine. Please make sure you configure the firewall at the client correctly
Client Push Installation
In order to successfully use client push to install the Configuration Manager 2007 client, you must add the following as exceptions to the Windows Firewall:
- File and Printer Sharing
- Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI)
Also make sure that the account that is used for push should have administrative right on the client machine. You can try to do on a command prompt a "net use" to the share, for example, \\10.233.104.203\admin$' with the account that you used for push. In this case, opso\administrator just like the log indicates
Minh- For the error in the ccmsetup.log (if you use the push client installation, and see ccmsetup starts on a machine, meaing the push service successfully reaches that specific machine), please make sure that the MP is working correctly (mpcontrol.log and/or mpsetup.log on the MP)
Minh - You can refer to following for details:
