AnswerSync Settings Dimmed on Secondary Site

    Hi,

After installing SUP on the secondary and configuring it, the Sync Settings in Component Configuration of the secondary site is dimmed. We cannot change from "Synchronize from an upstream update server" or " Do not synchronize...".
What is the cause of this and how can we change that?

    Thank you.

I don't have a secondary in front of me right now and I very rarely install the SUP at secondary site so I can't so for sure but I think this is by design. Once that secondary site is marked as active then it is austomatically set to sync from the parent server and there's no way to change that.

Secondary sites are automatically configured to sync from the parent site.

    Hi John,

I know, but the sync settings can be changed when you first install SUP on the secondary site(you can choose to let it syn with the upstream update server or not syn at all or use the export/import functionality). But then it becomes dimmed and you can no longer choose between those 3 choices.
    Any idea?

    Hi,

Regarding the results I had in my test lab, the Sync settings cannot be modified after the first configuration. Even if the server role is removed and reinstalled, the Sync settings keeps the old configuration. I didn't go further but would appreciate any additional information regarding this.

    Thank you.
