Problem Deploying Service Pack 3 for Project 2003 using SCCM

My colleague and i have been trying to deploy updates using SCCM for some time now and are not having much success. We got around it by approving and releasing update directly from WSUS running on the same server as SCCM. From what i can make out from various forums is we should not need to touch WSUS and SCCM will do everything for us which is our preferred method of working. The problem arises during the creating of the Deployment Package, when we try to download the update from WsusContent we receive an error that the specified path can not be found in the summary of the package creation. We know the path exists, we downloaded the service pack using WSUS in the first place. We can not for the life of us figure out why it can not see the path.
We are fairly new to using SCCM and are still trying to find our way around the system. Maybe we are looking for the most complicated answer when in reality it is something really simple that we are missing.
