SCCM Won't rerun install
SCCM Won't rerun install
Probably a basic issues but I have to ask..
I have a computer system that had IE6 installed and I ran the IE8 install through SCCM and had some issues. I had the user uninstall IE8 so I can retry the push from config manager. The report now says that it's successful and that the program will not rerun.
Question:
Does SCCM hold previous install info and I need to edit a Database so I can re-advertise to this system.
Why would this system still show that it's got IE8 to SCCM when it really has IE6?

- you need to change the Advertisment to "Alwyas re-run" for this to work. Once this is one you can re-run the adv. You shouldn't need or have to edit the database you just need to change the way your collection or Adv is set to run.
It think it has IE 8 per the status message because it returned an exit code of 0, successful. Yes you can have it say it was successful and still fail. The way to get around this is to create a collection based on Add/remove or file or something that keeps the computer in the collection until the Inventory says it is installed. Then you can just keep installing every x days until the machine is good and is dynamically removed from the collection.
