Hi,
I hope someone could help me sort out this issue. This is on a windows xp sp3 client.
1. All advertisements listed in Run advertised programs does not run when highlighted and Run is clicked.
- mandatory advertisements run
- advertisements run when you initiate a rerun of advertisement via sccm client center
- windows updates install
Checking the logs would not show any issues or errors.
What could possible by causing RAP not to execute the advertisements? What should I look for in the logs?
Thanks a lot in advance!

Hi,
Are there any information in Execmgr.log? do they report failed or nothing happens?

Nothing is logged in execmgr.log.
I tried to look at all the other logs but nothing seems to be out of the ordinary
- the sccm client has been reinstalled
- wmi has been repaired
is there a possibility that this could be caused by a bad user profile?

conflicting record?
Why? He mentioned that "All advertisements listed in Run advertised programs does not run when highlighted and Run is clicked". So the policy made it to the client and it seems as if it is a client side issue.

Thursday, February 02, 2012 9:43 PMi've had clients receive advertisements and not run them because of conflicting records, but you're right, if they've received the policy this "shouldn't" apply

Long shot, but could it potentially be a maintenance window holding things up? I'm pretty sure re-running an advert through SCCM Client Centre will force it to disregard any windows.
What does the advert status message say in the SCCM Console?
Cheers.

Friday, February 03, 2012 5:36 AMpolicies seem to arrive ok. mandatory policies that we feed it works. there's no maintenance window holding things up as we are not having issues with the other machines in the same site code. 95% probably is client side issue but reinstall the sccm client did not do anything different.

Maintenance windows are not evaluated at all if you initiate an installation using Run Advertised Program.

Its very strange that there are no entries in the execmgr.log file when you try to run the program from Run Advertised Program. There should be some entries in there indicating why it did not run.
Please double check that log.
