Outlook 2007 Possible to add new IMAP account into existing personal folders?

    Question

  • I've just changed our e-mail service from POP3 to IMAP

To make the change in Outlook 2007 I have to create a new e-mail account and then delete the old one.  When I did this on the first computer it created a new Personal Folders directory in Outlook.  How can I add this new e-mail account and have it just add in to the existing Personal Folders Directory - possible?

    Thanks,

    Ed

  • Hi, Ed

As my experience, this behavior was by design and cannot be changed.

You can add your original personal folder and then set as default, remove and delete new one by manual.

You can refer to this article: “Open, change, or close Outlook data files

FILE LOCATIONS IN WINDOWS VISTA and WINDOWS 7

    Outlook data files (.pst)    drive:\User\user name\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook

    FILE LOCATIONS IN WINDOWS XP

    Outlook data files (.pst)    drive:\Documents and Settings\user\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook
