Windows Server 2008 r2 redirect printer

    Question

  • when i connect remotely to w2k8 server, i have to change the settings in the printer to "print directly to spooler" but this option is grayed out and i cannot change it, i try to take ownership in the security tab but each time i log off and log on the ownership disappear and i have to put it again.

where you can change the owner of the redirected printer, and change it to administrator (instead of SYSTEM)?
is there any option in gpedit.msc to save my changed configuration on ownership level?
how can i let a user change the settings of his redirect default printer?

    thank you for your support

  • Changing any setting on a redirected printer will be lost during disconnect / logoff because the redirected connection is destroyed.  When you connect again, it will be a completely new "printer" no setting is retained.
