Link translation for internal site.

    Question

  • HI,

I have share point 2007 on our internal LAN that is our intranet http://intranet this is currently published externally using a reverse proxy TMG server as https://www.companyintranet.co.uk this works well users are presented with a logon and using AD credentials they login fine.

Now our share point admin has used a webpart to place an internal website within SharePoint site of http://internalservername this obviously works when sat on the internal lan but when accessing the the company intranet externally the webpart displays the this page cannot be displayed.

When you right click on the webpart iframe you can see the internal hostname of the server. What I want to know is can link translation solve this and if so how, I have enabled it and tried to configure it as suggested in a couple of TechNet articles but it does not seem to work. Am I missing something do i need to configure AAM as well.

Do I have to also publish this resource or can I just use the SharePoint publishing rule or am I getting confused.

    Thanks in advanced

    Scotty

  • Hi,

    Thank you for the update.

If the ISA is installed in Domain mode, you can use AD authentication, and RADIUS authentication is useful when ISA Server is installed in workgroup mode. You do not have to open up a DC, the authentication can be configured on the Web Listener.  For more information, please refer to: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc441695.aspx. For the webpart issue, it may related to authentication. As I am not familiar with SharePoint, would you please also post this thread on SharePoint forum?
