Configure local users without needing them to log in

    Question

  • Hello,

I am running a web app that authenticates users by checking to see if they exist in a group. To create a new user I need to add a local user and add them to that specific group, and then log in as the user to let Windows set up the account. Is there a way that I can get Windows to set up the account without me manually logging into it?

    Thanks,

    Garrett

  • No, the user profile is created by Windows.

Why not using LDAP (.Net ready) or ADSI (Active Directory Service Interfaces) (c/c++ COM Interface) to query and add user to an Active Directory group ?
