Getting error on every edit and no Activity in my profile

    Question

  • Instead of going to bed I decided to spent some time in WiKi. I attempted to edit several articles and every time I got an error. None of my edits are in my profile. In addition, there is a Spammer in WiKi right now. I sent her profile to the fissues, but don't know if they will be able to react quickly enough.

  • Two other people reported errors at about the same time. Ed Price reported errors, but said comments were still posted. I assume whatever it was is over now. Also, I don't see the spam as I would expect.

  • I finally found the spam you referred to, but it was not in the Recent Activity list where I normally see it. Instead I had to select "More featured articles" and page back many pages to see it. This happens when there are performance problems and errors. The publish or edit activity fortunately gets posted, but it doesn't show up in the Recent Activity list on the main Wiki page, and it doesn't show up in our profile. In the past, I think I decided the activity does show up in XAML Guy's weekly crawl, so it is reflected in the metadata he searches. I honestly don't know if it is reflected in our profile statistics.

  • I don't know if it reflected in the Leader Boards either. Say, last night I did about 30+ different edits (worked almost till 12 am from ~ 9:45 pm). None seems to end in my activity - I hope I can still get a credit for them because it was really hard - each save resulted in error and lasted about 1+ minute (I usually didn't wait and tried to do work in another window).

  • BTW, you can see her SPAM if you go to 'New pages' right now. The whole first page (5 top articles and the 6th one) are hers. I am not 100% sure the article is indeed SPAM, but obviously it should not be duplicated 6 times. May be one of them can be left - I don't know.

  • I have seen several times where Wiki activity does not show in our profiles, and is not reflected on the leaderboard (activities in last 7 days), but XAML Guy's weekly crawl must find it because he credits people with much more activity than is shown on the leaderboard. A few times there was no leaderboard (no activity for anyone the whole week), but the weekly crawl still worked. The metadata must be the first think updated.
