should system center 2012 sql and dw servers be OpsMgr monitored?

    Question

  • I have DW issues where even the DW terminates, else it omits alerts, then the follow on - omits notifications.  I have issue with MSoft but they want me to investigate SQL performance, I have my SQL guy look, said saw nothing.  But now I am wondering is the server that hosts the system center dw (and the other one that hosts my system center sql) supposed to be monitored by OPSMGR itself?  mine are, but is this a cause of problems?

  • I highly doubt monitoring the SQL servers is the issue.  I always recommend to my customers they monitor the SQL servers SCOM is using.

Please have a look at the SQL guide Paul put together for System Center here -
