    Hi.

I have 20 file servers, where are i need to change ntfs permissions on all files. What im worrid about, how will DPM 2010 handel this?

There is about 50TB of data, so it quite important for me to know, how DPM will handel this.

Will DPM think all files are new or will it just move the meta-data changes?

    Regards

    Peter

Only the meta data will be pulled over.

That being said, I have seen cases where doing MASS permission changes on servers triggers a VSS journal wrap (or whatever it's called).  When this happens DPM is forced to do a consistency check. Fortunately, this still doesn't cause entire files to be pulled over the wire when only permissions were changed.  It just can take longer to complete.

    I wouldn't worry about!
