Will Power View reports refresh in Power BI

    Question

  • I recall reading that Power View reports included in an Excel workbook posted to an in-house SharePoint site would not auto refresh, unlike Power Pivot reports, which would refresh if you had scheduled a data refresh. Is this true in Power BI as well? Or will Power View reports be refreshed when a data refresh is done in Power BI?

    Thank you.

  • Hi Arthur, Power View reports (in Excel or standalone) are always 'fresh' in that they always use the latest data in the underlying Power Pivot model. Power BI will have the functionality to automatically refresh Power Pivot models (including on-prem refresh) in a future release, it's not quite there yet but it is coming!

    Thanks for your question.

  • It sounds like you're referring to the known issue with SharePoint 2013 on-premise: PowerPivot scheduled data refresh fails if the workbook contains any Power View sheets. We've been working on resolving this issue and tentatively included the fix in an upcoming servicing release.

  • Hello Riccardo

Is that above issue resolved? Here in our environment still we could not  able to schedule the  data refresh for the power view data .

Getting error as : We can't open the workbook in the browser because it uses these unsupported features: • Interactive report sheets

    Environment: sharepoint 2013

    Configuration database version: 15.0.4420.1017

     Thanks for your help.
