  • Hi,

    How to use the backup path of server while taking backup from client machine SSMS, Runned and connected via domain user of the server.

  • where do you put the backup?? on the server?network path? or you local box??


    You can  take backup to any folder that Sql server Instance service account have access to the folder be it Network\shared path or local to the server.

     if it is shared path, you can do something this ..

    Backup database test to disk = '\\myshare\sql_backups\test.bak'

    if you want take a server backkups to your local machine, you will need create a shared path on your desktop and give sql service account access to it and take backup as above.
