  • Hi,

According to your description, as other post, you can post the general message about error log, I suggest you can post the detailed error message from C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\100\Setup Bootstrap\Log\<data>\Detail.txt? This would help us to troubleshoot the issue.

In addition, the windows account used to run the SP2 setup program must have administrator privileges on the computer where SP2 will be installed. And all features of the SQL Server instance must be at the same version level. There is a similar detail about how to install SQL Server 2008 SP2, you can refer to the following article.

  • Hi,

Please open the details.txt from the path C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\100\Setup Bootstrap\Log\<data>\Detail.txt using a notepad. Search for the text "at Microsoft". You should be able to see the error stack along with the error message.  Please copy and past the error messages and the entire stack you see in the details.txt. This would help us in providing the next steps to resolve the issue.
