hi all, i just want to ask if some one have an idea about the alternative recovery host for virtual machines using DPM 2010. i have a cluster hyper-v environment and i am try to test some scenario i want to test the alternative recovery host, anyone have an idea about the steps after i recover the VM to an alternate host?.

Hi,
After the guest is recovered to a CSV disk owned by the node in a different cluster, it should show up in hyper-V manager as a new guest. If it is in a saved state, delete the saved state and you should be able to start the guest. You can then make it highly available in the cluster.
NOTE: You do not want to restore a guest with the same name to an alternate location, it will overwrite the original.

what the problem if i recover to same cluster in case if the original VM is deleted and removed from the cluster ?? and virtual machine manager and from the CSV even from the hyper-v console.
