DPM 2010 Agent ID 3122, ID 316

Hi All,
I have DPM 2010 SP1 installed with latest update, i have got the error " The DPM protection agent on could not be contacted. Subsequent protection activities for this computer may fail if the connection is not established. The attempted contact failed for the following reason: (ID: 3122) The protection agent operation on failed because the service did not respond. (ID: 316)" when taking backup of Windows server 2008 r2 machine which has two running VMs.
Firewall is on but exception is included like other server. but it generates the elert on our SCOM server constantly. I have 10 GB ram installed on server , is there some performance related issue.???
