I'm curious about the answer to the above question, on which I want to add one.

What happens with items which have a field that is of type "managed Metadata" and is linked to a Termstore?

I noticed that if I change the option to include orgiona security when it asks you about the security of the object being restored it restores the metadata such as last modfied and the people/group metadata.

    Hi Matthew,

Have you noticed if it contains any other metadata?

    Hi,

I did some testing in this area and just as mentioned when using original security some metadata is restored. I created some custom metadata and this is restored, too. Any metadata coming from a workflow has never been restored - at least in my tests. I read some articles and this was mentioned there as well.

If you go up in hierarchy like subsites - only user groups but never admin groups are inlcuded in restores.
