    Hi,

Do you show more than one tape library under the library tab in DPM ?   If so, modify your protection groups and change the library from the name that is offline, to the name of the second library that is online.

If you only have a single library listed, go to device manager and rescan the hardware and make sure the medium changer is in a healthy state.  If not fix that, then back in DPM rescan to see if it will bring the library online.

    Hi,

Do you show more than one tape library under the library tab in DPM - One that is online, and one that is offline - Y/N ?
Does Device manager see the medium changer device OK   Y/N ?

Ok - then modify your protection groups and change the library from the name that is offline, to the name of the second library that is online.  The OFFLINE library will then be removed from the DPM UI and DPM will use the online library for all restores and new backups.  The tapes will be OK.

    HI,

Please right-click the firestreamer library that is (disabled), and choose the rename option, and rename it to "FireStreamer Media Changer 2" then modify the DPM Protection groups and configure the library settings to use the new one.  Once all the PG are reconfigured the offline library should disappear from the GUI.  You can move the tapes to the new library and DPM should recognize them as the original tapes since the barcodes and OMID have not changed.

    Hi,

You need to use the FireStreamer GUI interface to "unload" the tapes from the old library then "load" the tapes into the new library.  Once they are loaded perform a detailed inventory in DPM.

    Hi,

Please contact firestreamer support to assist you.  DPM should be able to use the online library.
