A user tried to create a conference with no Simple URL of type Dialin available.........

    General discussion

  • Error:

    A user tried to create a conference with no Simple URL of type Dialin available. This configuration would lead to inability to find local access numbers for dial-in conferencing.

    Domain: mydomani.com

    Cause: Missing simple url configuration for this domain

    Resoluition: Create a simple URL configuration of type Dialin for the failing domain.

    Confusion:

    The dialin URL is global. I don't understand why it is wanting a simple url for the specific domain for the dialin url. This is running the hosting pack v2 of Lync 2013. I have found that Microsoft has left out a lot in the document. For example you must still apply the same TenantId and GroupingId to the contacts and distribution groups especially if you want distribution groups to expand.

    Also they provided scripts but left out the ObjectId for the users in the scripts so they wree only setting TenantId and GroupingId. At the top it says you must set ObjectId,TenantId, and GroupingId for the users.

    It seems Microsoft needs to update the documentation. I have found it is missing a lot of information it seems!!

  • Hi,Quadrantids,

    Thank you for posting the question here,I am afraid I am not very clear about your question,would you please elaborate on it with more details?

    What's your simple URL configuration?Do you use option3 to name your simple url in global?

  • Hi,

    i have the same problem. I tried to provision tenants and users based on this documentation

    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=39101

    And the meeting URL did not work.

    Are there newer documentation? Because in this one lot of things missing or confusing.

    Quadrantids: do not set the users msrtcsip-objectid attribute, it cause an error. I tried it.

  • Yea the documentation isn't good at all. Don't set the ObjectID like you said. I got the meeting URL to work using the traditional method by using the topology builder. If that's the case whats the whole purpose of the commands in the deployment guide?

    Also I can't get the dialin to work at all. I do get warnings about the URL rewriting when i enable-cscomputer

  • I have a solution for the Dialin URL error message.

    When you specify the Tenant meet URL for the tenant it creates a type of list of URL's for the Tenant:

    $TenantSIPDomain = “fabrikam.com”
    $BaseMeetingURL = https://meet.litwareinc.com/
    $NewMeetingURL =  "https://meet.litwareinc.com/" + $TenantSIPDomain
    $URLEntry = New-CsSimpleUrlEntry -Url $NewMeetingURL
    $SimpleURL = New-CsSimpleUrl -Component "meet" -Domain $TenantSIPDomain -SimpleUrl $URLEntry -ActiveUrl $NewMeetingURL
    Set-CsSimpleUrlConfiguration –Tenant $TenOrgID -SimpleUrl @{Add=$simpleUrl}

    When you check the URL's you should see something similar to:

    Get-CsSimpleUrlConfiguration -Tenant $TenOrgID | Select-Object -ExpandProperty simpleurl

    SimpleUrlEntry    : {Url=https://meet.hoster.com/tenant.com}
    Component         : meet
    Domain            : tenant.com
    ActiveUrl         : https://meet.hoster.com/tenant.com
    MoreaDomain
           :
    LegacyMoreaDomain :

    The DialIn URL is missing in this list. Simply add the URL with the following commands:

    $NewDialinURL = "https://dialin.hoster.com"
    $URLEntry = New-CsSimpleUrlEntry -Url $NewDialinURL
    $SimpleURL = New-CsSimpleUrl -Component "dialin" -Domain * -SimpleUrl $URLEntry -ActiveUrl $NewDialinURL
    Set-CsSimpleUrlConfiguration –Tenant $TenOrgID -SimpleUrl @{Add=$simpleUrl}

    When you check the Tenant's URL Set the meet and dialin URL does appear and the error is not visible anymore in the eventlog

    Get-CsSimpleUrlConfiguration -Tenant $TenOrgID | Select-Object -ExpandProperty simpleurl

    SimpleUrlEntry    : {Url=https://meet.hoster.com/tenant.com}
    Component         : meet
    Domain            : tenant.com
    ActiveUrl         : https://meet.hoster.com/tenant.com
    MoreaDomain       :
    LegacyMoreaDomain :

    SimpleUrlEntry    : {Url=https://dialin.hoster.com}
    Component         : dialin
    Domain            : *
    ActiveUrl         : https://dialin.hoster.com
    MoreaDomain       :
    LegacyMoreaDomain :

  • This is still a problem with Lync 2013 Hosting Pack. It is extremely annoying.

    Get-CsSimpleUrlConfiguration | Select-Object -ExpandProperty SimpleUrl (shows the meet URL and domain correctly)

    Get-CsSimpleUrlConfiguration -Tenant $GUID | Select-Object -ExpandProperty SimpleUrl (shows the meet URL and domain correctly)

    However creating a meeting with Lync does not give the URL. Only gives the conf:****** and it generates event logs about there is no Simple URL of type Meet available!!!

  • Seems Update-CsUserDatabase fixes the URL problem
