MDT 2012 Update media function fails with copy errors

    Question

  • Update media function fails with errors shown below. This happens on new installations and upgrades from 2010 Update 1. Tried on multiple machines running Windows 7 SP1.
Uninstalled 2012 and installed 2010 - previously working 2010 is now broken.
Although media is created, the content is missing due to the errors shown below:

  • If you upgraded a deploymentshare to MDT 2012 Beta 1, you need to restore it from backup if you want to use MDT 2010 again.

As far as the media item in MDT 2012 Beta failure you should file it as a bug on the connect site.

  • I just installed MDT 2012 RC1 x64 on a Windows 2008 RS server, I am receving the same errors during media update.  No drivers, TS, or OS are being copied to the media content.

  • Well, I have tested offlined media on MDT 2012 RC1 and that worked fine...

Is this still your upgraded deployment share you are trying to use? If so, try to create a new one, just add a few things, and see if the error is still there.

  • I ran into the same issue and you have to make sure that the folder that you are creating the Media in is not under the Deployment Share folder.
